Sports Development Director Update

Sports Development Director Update

I wanted to give everyone an update on what Kile Zeller our Sports Development Director has been working on since he was hired.  The first task that he was assigned was to go and learn about the clubs in our LSC.   Kile hit the ground running and has to date visited 16 of our clubs.  In addition to club visits, you may have seen Kile on the deck at several long course meets this season.  He gave out nutritional information to parents who were waiting on their swimmers to finish the Clemson Open Water meet.  He also attended meets at YSSC, TG, PALM, Hilton Head, SMRT, and was on the deck at our state meet this past weekend in Columbia.

Kile was instrumental in getting our Zone team to Texas.  He spent hours helping Tim and Jimmy with the logistics of getting our 55 swimmers from Columbia to Dallas.  It is no small task to keep 55 swimmers fed, hydrated and happy while away from home.

Several coaches have asked Kile for help in gathering information. He has also met with boards from several clubs to help them work together to benefit their swimmers.  Kile will also be taking over the updating of our Top Ten list, and our records, and uploading our meets into swims.  He has created a recognition program that will benefit all of our clubs, regardless of size, and will be presenting Legislation for this program at our fall meeting.

My next task for Kile is to help our LSC board and committees function more effectively.  To do this he will meet with all Board Members, and committee chairs and learn about what we all do, and then give us feedback on things that we need to work on and improve.  He will help us work on detailed job descriptions and duties that will enable us to work more effectively as a board.  As always Kile is available to coaches as a resource for any and all things swimming related.  If you haven’t met Kile yet- introduce yourself, he is a wonderful resource for us all.

Happy Swimming
