The LTP Racing Club concluded its first full year as a club with great success, represented at Junior National Championships by four young men, three attending Juniors for their first time. These men finished the weekend with 13 personal best times, 14 team records, a fourth, 15th, and 22nd place individual finishes and a top 50 overall team rank. Junior Matthew Adams (Mt. Pleasant/Bishop England) placed fourth in the 200 freestyle (1:38.24) and 22nd in the 100 free (46.10) against a stout field of very accomplished swimmers, some heading for notable Division I programs Stanford, Missouri and Harvard. Matt also went best times in the 50 free (21.55), and 100 (51.86) and 200 backstroke (1:49.75). Junior James “Dirk” Bell (Mt. Pleasant/Wando) followed a high school title earlier this season with a best time and a 15th place in the 500 free (4:27.43) along with excellent drops in both the 200 free (1:41.76) and 200 back (1:50.77). Backstrokers Ben Hillebrand (Mt. Pleasant/Wando) and Cason Brown (North Charleston/Trident) swam their marquis events successfully and time-trialed two more, improving in five of six races.

YSSC's Men's 800 Freestyle Relay took 15th.

RHR: We had 4 swimmers at Juniors: Jacob Kohlhoff, Garrett Hills, Brandon Keller & Brandon Sweezer. All of the boys did really well for first timers!
