Who: Top 4 finishers in each age group, for each gender, in the races listed below
The Top 4 Rising High School Seniors and Below, each gender, in the 15 & Over age group, will be invited to the combined SC/NC Open Water Select Camp. The top 4, each gender, in the 13-14 5K will be invited to the combined SC/NC Open Water Select Camp. The top 4, each gender, in the 11-12 3K will be invited to the SC/NC Open Water Select Camp. This is a total of 24 swimmers--4 men and 4 women from each age-group listed above per specific event listed above.
The SC/NC Open Water Select Camp will be held in Pinehurst, NC, September 6-8th, 2013. The cost of the camp is $275/ qualified participant. This is a 2 1/2 day camp and will be focused on teaching and training open water skills, and will be the most fun camp your swimmer has ever been to! We will have Chip Peterson (Open Water Superstar Swimmer) assisting us, as well as have a sanctioned open water race Saturday night! The cost of the camp includes everything! SCS coaches, swimmers, and chaperones will meet in Columbia, Friday afternoon, and travel together in vans to Pinehurst, NC (about 3 hours from Columbia). Swimmers will be returned to Columbia that Sunday, mid afternoon.
We look forward to having our best and brightest SCS Open Water Swimmers in attendance! Remember, you have to participate in the SC State Championship Open Water Meet to have the opportunity to qualify for this camp. This is a great opportunity for SCS swimmers to participate in a one-of-a-kind camp opportunity with the great folks of North Carolina Swimming!
