CAC’s Adam Dear Sets SC Record, Qualifies for U.S. Open

Championship Meet in 2014

Adam Dear, swimming for Coastal Aquatic Club (CAC) based in Myrtle Beach, finished 19th in the nation at the Speedo Junior National Championship Swim Meet being held this week in Irvine, CA.  Adam’s time of 0:55.20 in the 100 Butterfly set a new South Carolina State record.  And, his finish qualified Adam to swim in the 2014 U.S. Open Championship Meet to be held July 30-August 3, 2014 in the same pool in Irvine, CA.  The U.S. Open meet will host current national and Olympic swimmers as one of the designated meets to choose next summer’s 2013 2014 U.S. National Swim Team.

Adam will begin competing collegiately this Fall for East Carolina University.  He plans to train with CAC next summer (and semester breaks) as he targets competing in the 2014 U.S. Open Championships.
