On Saturday, September 18, the Lexington High School Swim Team will host the 12th Annual “LHS Dam Swim for Drew”. Registration begins at 8:00 with the first wave of swimmers entering the water at 9:00. The two-mile open water swim across Lake Murray begins from the Irmo boat landing, crosses the lake past the three towers, and concludes on the Lexington side of the dam at the SCE&G Park. Swimming in the first day of competition at the Eastern Senior Sectional Championships at the University of Georgia, SMRT's BJ Hornikel broke the 10 year old State Record in the 17 - 18 Boys 50 Meter Free with a time of 23.74. The previous record was held by Samad Turner with a 23.82. WAY TO GO BJ!!!!
