South Carolina Swimmers Named 2019-2020 Scholastic All-America Ten South Carolina Swimming swimmers were recently named to the 2019-2020 USA Swimming Scholastic All-America team. The honor is given to students in grades 9-12 who maintain a minimum 3.5 grade point average and have attained 2019 Winter Junior qualifying times. The 2021 grant application for the USA Swimming Foundation Learn to Swim program is now available. USA Swimming Foundation Learn to Swim Grants are intended to expand current programming to reach under-served and under-represented populations and communities that would not otherwise have the opportunity to learn to swim. The USA Swimming Board of Directors continues to assess the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for necessary precautions to further prioritize the safety of USA Swimming members. As a result of this, and following the expiration of the Board’s previous emergency action, the Board has voted to amend Articles 202.4 and 202.6 of the USA Swimming Rules to require certain COVID-related precautions in order to issue meet sanctions and approvals, including a safety plan, assumption of risk, and release of liability.
