Dear Anderson Swim Club Partner: On January 14, 2011 the City of Anderson announced the closing of Sheppard Swim Center, the last public pool facility in Anderson County. With this decision, scores of residents using the pool for rehabilitation, competition, and education were tossed out into the street. In an effort to save the facility, the Anderson Swim Club Booster Club has signed a lease with Anderson School District 5, which currently owns the property. South Carolina’s Kent Easty was announced as the recipient of the Maxwell Excellence Award by USA Swimming and Swimming World Magazine. The award was established to recognized officials who have made significant contributions to swimming. It is one of the highest honors that an official can receive.
