This year the State of South Carolina decided to split the Palmetto State Spring champs to a Lowstate and Upstate meet. The purpose of this split was to give more swimmers the opportunity to swim in a great end of season championship meet. This year well over 750 South Carolina LSC swimmers competed in the Palmetto State Spring Champs. In my 7 years in the state that is the most by at least 250 swimmers. Dear Anderson Swim Club Partner: On January 14, 2011 the City of Anderson announced the closing of Sheppard Swim Center, the last public pool facility in Anderson County. With this decision, scores of residents using the pool for rehabilitation, competition, and education were tossed out into the street. In an effort to save the facility, the Anderson Swim Club Booster Club has signed a lease with Anderson School District 5, which currently owns the property.
