Dear SC Swimming, It is with a truly sadden heart that I have to say that yesterday we all lost a dear friend and coach, Ed Miller, after a long an courageous battle with cancer. Ed was the coach of the Spartan Splash School swim team based out of Spartanburg. Ed was also the Safety Chair for South Carolina Swimming and served as a Zone team coach on numerous occasions. This year the State of South Carolina decided to split the Palmetto State Spring champs to a Lowstate and Upstate meet. The purpose of this split was to give more swimmers the opportunity to swim in a great end of season championship meet. This year well over 750 South Carolina LSC swimmers competed in the Palmetto State Spring Champs. In my 7 years in the state that is the most by at least 250 swimmers.
